Story

Mr. Jaffery holds a master’s degree in Telecommunication from Michigan State University. He briefly studied in the doctoral program in public policy at George Washington University. Mr. Jaffery’s wife is a medical professional, and he has two outstanding children. His daughter is an attorney at a major law firm, and his son is a computer engineer at a leading software company.

In addition to his progressive activism, Mr. Jaffery has been an entrepreneur, speaker, writer, and consultant, founding and managing several business operations. He is an award-winning analyst who has worked for some of the most reputable market research and consulting firms, making groundbreaking contributions.

Mr. Jaffery is one of the most widely quoted analysts in the industry, and he was featured in a primetime news story on CNBC that highlighted a landmark wireless data study he authored. While at Strategis Group, Mr. Jaffery led a team of analysts to brief former White House Chief of Staff and Commerce Secretary, William M. Daley, on developments in the mobile wireless market

Mr. Jaffery is a prolific writer, authoring dozens of market research and technology analysis studies. An accomplished speaker and presenter, he has been a frequent panelist at major industry events. In 2000, Mr. Jaffery received an award from Gartner for his presentations at a road show across major North American cities.

In April 2011, Mr. Jaffery formed Information Trends (www.informationtrends.com), a market research company, to track developments in the hydrogen ecosystem. In addition, since October 2021, he has been managing Media Mores (www.mediamores.com), a progressive news outlet that provides news stories, podcasts, and analysis from third-party sources to advance its core mission of advocacy for national, progressive media.

From April 2010 to January 2012, Mr. Jaffery ran Information Consulting, LLC, an IT services firm, before establishing Market Analyst, LLC, an e-commerce webstore for marketing, selling and distributing market research. The company’s clients included Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, JP Morgan Chase, and Sprint, to name a few.

In November 2001, Mr. Jaffery founded Telecom Trends International, a market research and consulting firm whose clients included Qualcomm, Microsoft, Nokia, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Siemens, Motorola, Panasonic, Hitachi, Ernst & Young, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Jaffery worked as a senior analyst and program manager with Gartner from 1996 to 2000 before becoming vice president and chief analyst at the Washington, DC-based Strategis Group. Additionally, he authored major studies for IDC and the Yankee Group.
